Thanks for the very helpful information you provided, i am trying to read the original H.D.D of my USA LS460 2007 on my laptop in order of taking image for it. My aim is to blend and provide easy NAV remapping for exported cars, something that LExus will not privide at all, at least in Switzerland. To further continue my work and provide un with simple solution to problems of exported cars, I'll need similar contents from another region, be it Russian Federation, Europe or GCC. If this post goes well (remember, my first one ), then I'll attempt to post a detailed listing of all files from all the 4 partitions. I believe we could bypass many steps by directly accessing the hard disk.

I have the whole procedure on how to upload the maps to the HDD navigation but without the key, its useless. The security code or key is only available to Lexus dealers at the moment. However, it cannot be done because it requires a security code (different for each car). You would need a SST, the navtool from lexus, you can use that to upload the maps to the navtool and to the car using your PC.

Unless you can somehow upload the DVD info to the USB drive that is needed to upgrade the USA region navigation. Hence, the way they are loading the upgrade is different.
Gulf Region navigation is DVD base and USA is HDD base. i tired of searching the forums on this topic.

This used to occur about once or twice a year, now it is happening every month.I'm from the Gulf Arab United Arab Emirates and i buy lexus ls460l/2007 from usa, im my car ((hdd navigation system)) includes a special map of America, ihave Arabian Gulf region dvd map and i want to CHANGE AND install it into HDD NAVIGATION but i cant, i fund a special slot for map require special cable and navigation ubdate tool, also that there was no override in my navigation system. I do NOT want to change the stereo as I like the way it links to the rear DVD displays and the steering wheel controls, but I would like to get rid of this issue when I try to have it navigate me somewhere!! The DVD's cost a fortune and I don't like that the GPS wont read it. I am sure it must be something getting worn in the DVD reader. Sometimes if I just eject and put the DVD back in it works, other times nothing will make it read, except to turn of the engine and wait 30 minutes. This occurs with all the GPS navigation DVD's that I have, they all look spotless (I buy a new update each year or so and have kept the old ones).
When I start the engine, the navigation system (its built into the stereo - Pioneer make it, no sync system) tells me it cant read the DVD and to try cleaning it. I love my 2008 expedition (owned it from new), but I am starting to have this issue more and more often and it's really annoying. Hi everyone, I am sure this has been mentioned before but using the search feature I was not able to find anything so hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
